Bleeding Hearts Foundation collected letters of HOPE, support, and love for 11 individuals spending Christmas at a substance abuse treatment facility. People from across the United States sent in letters and we were able to give the residents 25 letters each! We received letters from children, individuals who struggled and who are struggling with addiction, individuals touched by addiction, and individuals who just wanted to give their love. Generous contributions allowed us to donate custom made mugs, which provide a daily reminder for the residents that they are strong, capable, worth the work, and most importantly that they can manage their addiction. In addition, a beautiful bamboo plant was donated to each resident as a symbolism of growth. The residents were extremely touched by the compassion of strangers willing to spend time writing letters full of love and uplifting words. We received an enormous positive response from the men at the treatment facility and those who wrote the letters. Many asked if we could make this project an annual event. Bleeding Hearts Foundation is driven by YOU; therefore, we plan to continue and grow this project in the years to come. Thank you all for making this project a huge success and thank you all for making a difference in the lives of these men! Below are examples of the powerful messages contained in these letters.
